and care roles to assist with critical task assignment
and completion.
PatientTouch provides the flexibility to rapidly create
new Care Roles for outbound notifications or that can
be subscribed to for task distribution.
USE CASE
Hospitals preparing for or currently experiencing
an influx of potential COVID-19 patients are using
supplies, such as Personal Protection Equipment, at a
much faster rate than normal. Replenishing inpatient
unit supplies to make them immediately available to
frontline caregivers is critical to ensuring staff safety
and sustainability. One PatientSafe client has created a
Supply Runner role and created a streamlined workflow
to address this need:
1. Broadcast messaging alerted all clinical staff of the
new role and process
2. Supply Runners are associated to a nursing unit so
that the Charge Nurse (or another assigned staff
member) can immediately identify and communicate
via text the current list of needed supplies
